Winter Weather

I thought I'd experiment a little early this morning and take a picture of the wonderful (or not so wonderful if you have to go out in it) snow.  I took this picture with my phone so I was quite surprised that it didn't turn out so blurred I couldn't tell what it was! :)

Yesterday's experience with the snow was interesting to say the least.  We had a guy pull up and park his volvo in front of our house and get out and start walking up the hill opposite our house.  As he headed up the road, we were trying to speculate as to why he just left his car at our house.  About 45 minutes later he returned with reinforcements.  Apparently he's one of our distant neighbors over the hill whom we hadn't met yet.  He got his neighbor who has a snow plow on the front of his pickup to come down and plow the road so his little car could get back up it.  However, when he hadn't counted on was the fact that when he parked in front of our house, he parked on the storm grate which didn't make for good traction in the snow.  After seeing him almost slide his car into our telephone pole, we decided to go out and see if we could help.  Numerous slides, slips, shovels full of snow, and Lyle (our neighbor across the road) using his snow blower to clear out most of the road and a little gravel to gain traction, we finally got our distance neighbor out of our yard and up the steep hill to his house (this took at least 3 more attempts).  At least it cleared out the road behind our cars so we can easily get out once the snow melts :)

What adventures did you have in the snow?  Feel free to share below! :)

Wow!

I can't believe how long it's been since I updated this blog!  Things are going pretty well.  I had a great time seeing family over the holidays and I'm amazed at how fast the time flew by.

I can tell spring is approaching as my calendar is slowly and surely filling up.  March is almost completely booked on weekends, April is full including two weddings, and May is starting to fill up with senior sessions.  I thank God every day for how blessed I am.

As for Michelle Kirby Photography, I am so excited about changes that are coming!  Keep checking back and I'll post changes, shoots, and all the fun as it comes!

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!
